“End of the Line” - Painted in 1997

This mural depicts the town founder, Isaac Trabue, and the man who built railroads on the West Coast of Florida, Henry Plant. The artwork pays homage to these visionary men who transformed the area into a bustling trading post. Punta Gorda prospered when the railroad came to town, and it was the “End of the Line” for the west coast of Florida from 1886 until 1904. Their efforts laid the foundation for Punta Gorda's development as a commercial hub, attracting settlers, merchants, and entrepreneurs. This mural stands as a testament to the town's resilience, progress, and entrepreneurial spirit.
