The Sun Is Out And The Market Is Sizzlin’!

Summer is off to a great start here in Punta Gorda!

A 44% increase in unit sales was reported in Burnt Store Marina for the period 6/1/18-7/15/18, versus the same period last year.  A 30% increase was reported for  single family homes put under contract in Punta Gorda Isles/ Burnt Store Isles for the same period versus last year. As one would expect, we have experienced a corresponding increase in property showings and phone inquires in comparison to prior summers. 
We think some Buyers are here trying to lock into the current interest rates before they creep above 5%.
Many properties have been selling somewhat faster this year, which has encouraged more sellers to list their property “off season
We are however, expecting that buying activity will fall off some in August and September, (as it typically does) and will pick back up in October.
New housing starts continue to grow throughout our region with more and more house land packages approaching the high six figure range.

Safe Harbor Marinas (the owner of Burnt Store Marina since January 2017), has partnered with the second largest privately-held company in the U.S.- Koch Industries. We believe this means gives greater stability and future improvements to SW Florida’s largest deep water marina!

Seawall Update

Marine Contracting Group continues to work on damaged seawalls in the Harborwalk area and Punta Gorda Isles. Work is scheduled to begin in sections of Burnt Store Isles on Oct 1, 2018. For the full update from the city, or to find out what zone you are in, CLICK HERE.

Giving Back To Our Community

Giving back to the community has been a priority at Michael Saunders & Company for over four decades.
